Our status as a specialist Language College is obvious as you come through the main entrance, where the flags of France, Germany, Spain and the European Union greet all new arrivals.
The MFL Department has seven classrooms, four of which are located in an MFL Block in the Middle Yard.and the others are located off the Main Hall. All of the rooms, decorated with a wide variety of authentic resources, are fully equipped with interactive whiteboards and sound systems. We also have direct access to foreign language television and radio channels through the satellite dish and also through our ''Sky box'.
At the heart of the Department, adjacent to the Departmental office, is an open-access resources area, with materials for GCSE and A-level, where students can come in and embark upon independent, self-initiated study. This is also the informal setting for many of the conversation classes, held with the Foreign Language Assistants, who are employed full-time by the school each year.
The adjoining ICT suite has been converted, at considerable cost, into a multi-media suite with full language laboratory facility.
