Assessment
- Module 1: 1½ hour examination involving listening, reading and writing (35% of AS; 17½% of full A-Level)
- Module 2: 1 hour essay paper - one essay in response to given texts (30% of AS; 15% of full A-Level)
- Module 3: 15 minute speaking exam on Module 1 and 2 topics; including a presentation and discussion and general conversation (35% of AS; 17½% of full A-Level)

- Science and technology
- Racism
- Crime and punishment
- The future of Europe
- Global issues
Module 5
- Choice between literary or non-literary topics or set texts
- We choose two topics which are of interest to us and study them in detail
- Students write two longer essays of approximately 750 words each (coursework)
Assessment
- Module 4: 2½ hour exam involving listening, reading and writing (17½% of A-Level)
- Module 5: Coursework
- Module 6 : 15 minute speaking test; including reporting and discussion and general conversation based on module 4 and 5 topics studied during the A2 course (17½ % of A-Level)
