Tuesday, April 24 Leeds Grammar School
From a series of qualifying galas held earlier in the year, HGS qualified for these finals as one of the top 6 schools. In an increasingly competitive event, the team finished 4th from an initial entry of 18 schools.
Creditable though this was, it might have been even better - unfortunately late withdrawals forced the Senior Boys and Girls to swim with only 3 team members, causing us to be automtically relegated to last place in 6 of the 28 races (despite actually winning 3 of those 6!)

We received many positive comments from members of other schools, not only for the quality of performance but also for the standard of behaviour. All 30 members of the team were a credit to the school. Many thanks also to the parents - their cooperation and very vociferous support have been much appreciated.
That completes the competitive programme for this year. Would all swimmers ensure that school kit is returned to Mr. Allen as soon as possible.?
