The Government state that all students in full time education should have an element of religious education in their school curriculum. At KS4 the following programme of study is followed from the AQA Short course specification. Students who have not opted to take the full course GCSE, may if they wish, be entered for the Short course GCSE at the end of Year 11. Historically about a 1/3 of the Year group choose to do this. The lesson time for this specification is one single period a week.
