In Spring 2011, a remarkable 108 pupils – 70% of the year group - elected to take History at GCSE. Here is one pupil to explain why she chose the subject:
“I decided to take GCSE history as I have enjoyed the first three years in Key Stage Three and therefore I wish to continue studying it. During the three years I have progressed with my writing skills and overall knowledge in History. The knowledge which I have acquired in my lessons has only made me more eager and passionate about this subject. Therefore I will further my understanding of both the basic dates and events of the past, but also of human nature and how people have influenced the world. History has also given me important skills in writing and analysing sources, which are very important to me as I am thinking about pursuing a career in law.”

TRIP

All students in Year 9 will have the opportunity to go on a one day visit to the Royal Armouries museum Leeds, also see trips and photos.
