History at A2 Level


 

 

A2 LEVEL HISTORY  

 A2 History is split into 2 sections, again following the AQA specification. The 2 units are taught concurrently by specialist teachers.

 
 
  • Reform and Prosperity, 1865–1873
  • Reform and Conflict, 1874–1886
  • Challenges at Home and Abroad, 1886–1901
  • Liberal revival? 1902–1915

 

 

 

 

This is a coursework unit. Students currently study Germany 1815 - 1933, drawing out synoptic themes throughout the period. Students will undertake significant independent reading and research, in addition to the taught cousre in order to prepare a 3000 word historical enquiry. The enquiry will focus on a  historical debate and the students will use their wider reading of books, journals and articles in order to engage in that debate.
