School-assessed component

 

Ths school-assessed component of your GCSE is made up of two parts:

 

Investigative Skills Assignment (ISA)

• based on a practical activity carried out in class
• question paper is taken in a normal timetabled lesson but under controlled conditions
• candidates use the data that they have collected during the practical work to answer some questions
• time allowed for the test is 45 minutes
• marked by your teachers using AQA mark scheme

 

Practical Skills Assessment (PSA)

• candidates are assessed throughout the course by the teacher on the implementation of practical work, using a scale from 0 to 6
