On Friday 7 November the school had teams competing in the regional round of the English Schools’ Swimming Association (ESSA) National Relay Championships for Secondary Schools.
In the largest of the ESSA regions, schools were represented from as far afield as Scarborough, Hull and Grimsby.
In the Junior Championships
- the girls' team of Amy Royston, Charlotte Regan, Hannah Woodcock-Shaw, Mia Green
Bronze medal (3rd place) - Medley relay
Finalists (5th place) - Freestyle relay
- the boys’ team of Oliver Heeley, George Flesher, Ben Kent, Zack Moore
finished just outside the final placings in both relays, a very creditable performance with a team containing 3 Year 7 boys, who will have 2 more years in the same age group.
In the Intermediate Championships
- the girls' team of Avril Kiritschenko, Sophie Shields, Emily Powell, Charlotte Hogg

Congratulations to Avril Kiritschenko who was selected to represent the Yorkshire, Humberside, North Lincs region in this prestigious event in October.
