This year saw a further consolidation in the range of events. The reintroduction of chess and the continued involvement of the spelling bee, which built on its successful launch in recent years, combined to provide an almost equal balance between sporting and non-sporting events.
Following the completion of around 30 competitions in the 12 different disciplines, the final standings in this year's ‘Lees Cup’ remained in the balance right up until the final events of the year.
With only the Music and the Athletics to come, the final outcome was still very much in doubt. However, strong performances in those events saw Brontë House emerge victorious.
