Extra-Curricular

At Heckmondwike Grammar School we pride ourselves on the variety of activities in which our students can get involved. The range of clubs, societies, activities and subject support is phenomenal. From K-pop to Percy Jackson, craft to chess as well as regular sport, music and drama activities there is something for everyone.

Getting involved in any of these activities earns students ‘1898’ points for extra-curricular participation. These points contribute to their scorecard and totals from these will feature on the termly reports which you will be sent at the end of each term. The more you do the more points you can accrue. This is not the whole picture: such involvement helps develop a student’s confidence, engagement with and enjoyment of school as well as providing a focus for lunchtimes and after school sessions.
