F1 in Schools
The Heckmondwike Grammar School F1 in Schools car recently featured on BBC National Breakfast News. The HGS gold coloured car can be seen racing alongside the 'casio' world champion's car in a number of scenes throughout the news feature.
The car was built by the Heckmondwike Grammar School F1 team, consisting of Tom Sanford, Libbie Booker, Nanda Kakumani, Ali Nain, Lillie-Mae Sharp and Finlay Bates who recently won four trophies in the recent regional final that was held at Sheffield Hallam University.
The team researched, designed and developed their original F1 car in less than two months and have overcome a number of obstacles to secure their place in the National Finals to be held at the Birmingham NEC in March. The team will be competing against schools from across the country where they have a good chance of winning a place at the World Finals in Singapore later this year!
Fingers crossed and good luck to the team!
