Important Notice – Chair of Governors
It is with great sadness that I report that our Chair of Governors, Mr Malcolm Pinder passed away at the weekend. Mr Pinder had been a governor since 1988 presiding over the school becoming Grant Maintained, which allowed the school a level of independence enabling it to flourish into the outstanding institution it is today. During the ensuing period, the school has grown physically, adding numerous high-quality facilities and also in its academic reputation and stature on a national scale. For 30 years Mr Pinder has been very active in supporting the school’s development, but always with the impact on the students at the forefront of his thinking. As a local person, Mr Pinder had an affinity for the area and understood the importance of the school being very much part of the wider community. He always gave his time freely and would do whatever it took to make the school even better. Mr Pinder’s two sons attended the school and along with Mrs Pinder, the school was a huge part of their family life.
On behalf of the whole school community, we have expressed our sincerest condolences and sympathies to the family at this very sad time.
