School Governor (voluntary role)
Are you passionate about education and want to make a difference in your community?
We are currently looking to recruit a Governor with expertise in finance and accountancy to join our Governing Body.
Governance at Heckmondwike Grammar School is a vital role in our functioning as an organisation and an employer.
The purpose of our governors is to provide:
- strategic leadership
- accountability and assurance
- strategic engagement
The board has collective accountability and strategic responsibility for the school. It has a focus on ensuring the trust delivers an excellent education to pupils while maintaining effective financial management and must ensure compliance with:
- the trust’s charitable objects
- regulatory, contractual and statutory requirements
- their funding agreement
