The 49 club is run by the Friends of HGS. You can join the 49 club by enquiring via the Business Office at school, who will give you all the details. Ring Mrs Illingworth on 01924 418311 for more details and an application form.  Essentially you pay a pound a week (in quarterly instalments by standing order) and you “own” a number between 1 and 49. If your number comes up in the Saturday National Lottery lotto draw as the bonus ball, then you win half the prize fund. The rest of the monies go to a fund to be spent by the Friends in support of the school.

Our open evenings for entry September 2014 will take place on Tuesday 25^th and Wednesday 26^th June 2013. The evenings will commence at 7.00pm with displays ending at 9.00pm. 

The entrance exam for entry in September 2014 will take place on Saturday 28^th September 2013. The open evenings are appropriate to children currently in year 5. Please note that we will not be holding further open evenings in the autumn term. Please click here to view the press advertisement.

Dear parent

We have been advised by Kirklees Highways department that they will shortly be commencing pavement works on High Street. We hope that disruption will be limited but we will monitor the works and issue guidance to students about how to approach the school if footpaths in the area are affected.

Our annual House Music Competition swings into action once again immediately after the half term holidays, when pupils will have four weeks to plan and rehearse their items. Entries must be submitted by Friday 28th June, the competition itself taking place on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th July. best of luck to all houses! Click here to download an entry form.
