Where You Can Eat

HGS has four catering outlets:

• the main dining room (MDR)
• the senior common room (SCR)
• the Jo Cox Centre (JCC)
• the catering pod.

Generally, the MDR is for Years 7-10 and breakfast service, the SCR is for Year 11, and the JCC is for the Sixth Form. Food is available at breakfast, break and lunch. Breakfast is only available in the MDR and JCC, food at break is in the MDR and SCR, and lunch in served all venues. We are delighted to add the new catering pod as an option for you to use at lunchtime. It is available to all students and provides a ‘grab and go’ lunch option, including ice creams.

Payment

All catering payments for Years 7-11 must be made via ParentPay. Please contact the finance team if you need any assistance with ParentPay. As well as ParentPay, students in the Sixth Form have the additional option of credit card payment in the JCC only.

There are two meal deal options, both of which are priced at £3. The pink meal deal contains two items and the blue meal deal contains three items. Meal deal menu items are marked as to which meal deal they are part of.

Any changes to prices will be displayed in school. Gluten free food is available but must be ordered in advance. Please contact the Catering Manager to arrange this.

Changes to service

At times, year groups may change outlets, or outlets may close subject to service, staffing and events in school. Access to the main dining room and catering pod is on a year group and house rotation.
