Student Councils

Your views are important to the school, and taking part in a student council allows them to be heard and acted on.

To allow you and your fellow students to have a voice, we run a student council system. Each year group has a year council meeting every half term. Elected representatives from each form attended the meeting, which is chaired by a member of the Sixth Form Senior Committee. Students decide the agenda for their year group and have the chance to discuss any issues raised by members for their form.

Each year council also elects two of its members to attend the Senate, a whole-school forum chaired by the Head Boy and Head Girl. This gives the opportunity for issues raised by more than one year council to be discussed. After each Senate meeting, the Head Boy and Head Girl attend a Senior Leadership Team meeting to feed back students’ views and discuss any action needed.
