Student Code of Conduct

A student code of conduct is a formal set of rules and expectations that outline how you should behave in school.

Why is it important?

A code of conduct:

  • promotes a safe and respectful environment
  • ensures that everyone feels secure and respected, reducing bullying, harassment and disruptive behaviour
  • supports learning
  • provides clear expectations to help maintain order, allowing teachers to focus on teaching and students to focus on learning
  • encourages responsibility and accountability
  • enables you to learn the importance of following rules and taking responsibility for your actions.

Our Values

Students are expected to uphold our core values of respect, responsibility and excellence.

How can you show the school values?

  • Take responsibility by behaving in an orderly and self-controlled way.
  • Show respect to each other, members of staff and yourself.
  • In class, demonstrate respect for learning by making it possible for all students to learn.
  • Always wear the correct uniform including on the way to and from school.
  • Move quietly around the school.
  • Treat the school buildings and school property with respect.
  • Always uphold the security and safety of everyone in school.
  • Accept sanctions when given.
  • Refrain from behaving in a way that brings the school into disrepute, including when outside school and when using transport to and from school.
  • Use online platforms and social media responsibly, ensuring that no post identifies staff or students of the school without their permission, or brings the reputation of the school into disrepute in the opinion of school leaders.
