Student Code of Conduct

A Student Code of Conduct is a formal set of rules and expectations that outline how students should behave in school.

Why is it important?

  • Promotes a safe and respectful environment – ensures that everyone feels secure and respected, reducing bullying, harassment, and disruptive behaviour.
  • Supports learning – clear expectations help maintain order, allowing teachers to focus on teaching and students to focus on learning.
  • Encourages responsibility and accountability – students learn the importance of following rules and taking responsibility for their actions—skills that are valuable beyond school.

Our Values

Students are expected to uphold our core values of respect, responsibility and excellence.

  • Take responsibility by behaving in an orderly and self-controlled way.
  • Show respect to each other, members of staff and themselves.
  • In class, demonstrate respect for learning by making it possible for all students to learn.
  • Always wear the correct uniform including on the way to and from school.
  • Move quietly around the school.
  • Treat the school buildings and school property with respect.
  • Always uphold the security and safety of everyone in school.
  • Accept sanctions when given.
  • Refrain from behaving in a way that brings the school into disrepute, including when outside school and when using transport to and from school.
  • Use online platforms and social media responsibly, ensuring that no post identifies staff or students of the school without their permission, or brings the reputation of the school into disrepute in the opinion of school leaders.
