Sixth Form Monitoring
We check in with you regularly to ensure that you are on track to achieve the grades you need, and that you have all the support you require.
Monitoring your progress towards your required grades is essential throughout the year to ensure you are on track and have all the support you need. If you are at risk of falling below your potential, we will work with you to improve your grades and increase your chances of securing your desired career path after Sixth Form.
How progress is monitored
Academic progress is monitored through the collection of current grades throughout the year. Your current grade is based upon a range of assessments conducted across the year, including formal assessments, class work and homework. Your current grade is used to generate a projected grade, which is the grade you are likely to secure at the end of the course, based on your current attainment and effort.
You will also be given an attitude to learning grade. The attitude to learning grade is measured on a five point scale, with ‘green’ being the expectation of all students. Students working beyond expectations will be given silver or gold, with those below expectations given amber or red.
Tracking and support
The Sixth Form team track your grades carefully, and can offer additional support where needed. This varies for each student; it could include helping you to develop your study habits such as managing your time and workload, or helping you to access subject-specific support.
