Careers

At Heckmondwike Grammar School we have a well -resourced careers department and we hold the national Quality in Careers Standard.

The school employs Mrs Ellis and Mrs Haigh who are experienced, professionally qualified Careers Advisers. Both Mrs Ellis and Mrs Haigh are based in the Careers Resource Centre, providing advice and guidance to students. They can also be contacted via [email protected]

You can also follow us on Twitter.

In addition to providing personalised advice and guidance to individual students, the department provides a broad-ranging and in-depth programme of Personal Development and Tutorial lessons, careers events and presentations for students in each year group from year 7 to year 13. This includes a wide range of employers and Higher Education institutions to inspire students and broaden their horizons, to enable students to make fully informed choices. You can see the Careers programme by clicking the hyperlink to the right. Our aim is for each student to progress from school into a destination which is right for them and in which they can reach their full potential.
