At Heckmondwike Grammar School we have a well-resourced careers department.
Careers is managed by Mrs Mistry and Mrs Lawler, who are both professionally qualified Careers and Higher Education Advisers, are based in the Careers Resource Centre, providing advice and guidance to students.
Students have access to the latest careers software and an extensive range of information covering a wide range of career options and routes, including Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and University courses.
The centre has been awarded the C+K Careers Quality Standard, for providing high quality information, advice and guidance to students.
We provide an in-depth programme of Skills Lessons, Careers Events and Presentations for students in each year group from year 7 to year 13. This includes a wide range of employers and Higher Education institutions to inspire students and broaden their horizons, to enable students to make fully informed choices. Our aim is for each student to progress from school into a destination which is right for them and in which they can reach their full potential.
