ClassCharts

ClassCharts is an online platform which supports positive behaviour, engagement, and communication between school and home.

We believe in rewarding students for their efforts and achievements, and we think it’s important that parents are kept informed of their child’s successes in school. ClassCharts is an online points-based system we use whereby staff can award points to students, and parents can see details of the points, as well as accessing letters and updates.

Positive points

Students can gain positive points for many different reasons including excellent classwork or homework, effort, enthusiasm, resilience in learning or generosity. Accumulating positive points results in students being acknowledged with certificates and rewards, and these are visible on ClassCharts so you can see your child’s achievements.

Negative points

We have high expectations of our students which are met daily, but we also know it’s important to let parents know when a student’s behaviour or effort falls below our usual standards. If a student does something which does not meet our expectations, staff can award a negative point. This might be applied for lateness, failing to engage with learning or issues with homework. Sanctions appropriate to these negatives will be applied by staff, but if a student gets six negative points within one half term, this will result in an after-school detention on the following Tuesday or Thursday evening. We will inform you in advance by letter and on ClassCharts if your child has been given an after-school detention.

Using ClassCharts

Both students and parents have their own unique code which enables them to access their ClassCharts account online. To keep up to date with your child’s points on ClassCharts, you can download the free app available from the App Store (Apple) and the Google Play Store (Android).

ClassCharts is used for communicating with both students and parents. As a parent, you will receive an email or a push notification (if using the app) when a new message or letter has been sent to you. New messages will appear under ‘Announcements’. Students can log in to view their homework calendar as well as their points.
