Our Subjects
The delivery of our academic subject curriculum is organised via subject-based departments, each with a Subject Leader. English and Mathematics also have a Second in Department. All teaching staff are graduates in their specialist subjects, typically with many years of experience. They trained in the most effective teaching and learning techniques.
In this section, you will find detailed information on each subject, including an overview of the curriculum delivered in each Key Stage. At HGS, all students study a three-year Key Stage 4 that begins in Year 9. This model has proven to be very effective and popular, and allows departments to explore their subject areas in greater depth so that our students are suitably stretched and challenged, fully preparing them for their external exams and future post-16 study.
